The Ultra Flake® Installation Process

To ensure a lifetime of durability on the Gold Coast, we follow a rigorous 5-coat application system using industrial-grade materials.

Step 1: Diamond Grinding & Surface Prep

We don't just "wash" the floor. We use Husqvarna Planetary Diamond Grinders to remove the surface layer of the concrete. This creates a "Concrete Surface Profile" (CSP 2-3), ensuring the epoxy bonds deep into the slab. We use Dust Control Tromb 400L vacuums to keep your Gold Coast home or business dust-free during the process.

Step 2: Crack Repair & Priming

Using APC (All Purpose Coatings) EPO100EP Epoxy Putty, we patch all cracks and divots. We then apply a prime coat of EPO100T® Tinted Epoxy. This moisture-barrier layer prevents the "bubbling" or delamination often caused by the high humidity levels in suburbs like Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.

Step 3: Base Coat & Full Flake Broadcast

A second layer of EPO100T® is applied. While the coating is still wet, we perform a "Full Broadcast" of Ultra Flake®. We toss the flakes high into the air—a "chicken feed" broadcast—to ensure they fall evenly and hide all concrete imperfections.

Step 4: The Entrapment Coat

Once the base is cured, we scrape back excess flakes for a smooth feel and apply an entrapment coat of Sparta60® Polyaspartic. This layer "locks" the flake in place, creating a waterproof, seamless surface.

Step 5: UV-Stable Top Coat

The final step is a high-performance UV Top Coat. For Gold Coast properties, this is critical. Our polyaspartic finish is 100% UV stable, meaning your garage or patio floor in Burleigh Heads or Palm Beach won't yellow or "chalk" under the intense Queensland sun.
